Design for the human body
Ergonomics is a huge deal in the world of design. Anthropometrics allow us to craft our products in such a way that it is comfortable and fit to be used by human beings. The following are projects I've done to explore the world of ergnomical industrial design through simple form development.

Flowform spatula
"Create a spatula using only four cuts from a block of maple and secondary sanding; the spatula must be ergonomic, comfortable, and guide the user in its use"With such a small object, I was able to really resolve the fine details of the grip, using soft and hard edges in order for the user's hand to naturally slip into the optimal position. The arch of the spatula improve leverage for spatulation while providing a pleasant transition from the handle to the blade.
Plastiform tools
"Through amorphic and broken surfaces, create a complimentary set of tools which reinterpret neolithic hand tools in a contemporary way."The focus of this project was to create two cohesive, intuitive, and ergonomic tools through only their form language. I chose to make a hammer and a piercer. The two both have hard edge curves which separate the tool into ergonomic faces and facets, with similar cutouts for finger grip.
The goal was to design these two objects in such a way that any one picking it randomly would intuitively know how to use the object (without prior description of the action). So simple a caveman could use it (at least from the neolithic age).
